Get Air!

We had a great night at Get Air in Huntington Beach.  The Stake put on a Mutual night for this 5th Wednesday, and it was a huge success!

Sariah 12-16 Weeks

A comparison from her first week with us an now.  The bowl she is eating from is the same bowl!

Napping in Winston's old bed and in our bed
Jenna and Sariah selfies
She wants to climb this slide so badly!
The couch and fluffy pillows are still her favorite place to hang out
In January, Sariah transitioned from 12 to 16 weeks, so I guess it's time to count months.  Our pup is now 4 months old, and she's all puppy.  She loves to play with us, nap in cozy places and chew.  Fortunately her chewing is contained to paper, sticks, water bottles and the occasional roll of paper towel if she's really bored.  Her puppy teeth are falling out and making way for the large adult teeth.  Thankfully the adult teeth are not as sharp!  She's getting too big for the front seat, but not too big for selfies with Jenna.  Her first toys now look a lot more average size against her larger size, and some are not surviving her teeth and need to be replaced regularly.  We cannot believe how fast she is growing and how smart she is.  We can't wait to take her out to meet other dogs and start socializing her.

Random Friend Time

We post a lot about our time with friends.  Thanks to Instagram and cell phones, we have the opportunity to capture a lot of moments, which is bound to make our blog and subsequent blog book a lot thicker than it would have been if we were only shooting pictures with our digital SLR.  Oh well, here we are in the age of technology.  Back to the subject at hand...Heather was at an all day tournament on Saturday, and Sarah and Jenna hung out.  We decided to go to Rubio's for some quick take-out since it was just the three of us.  I kind of cracked up at how far away the girls sat.  Jenna told me later it was because she didn't want to sit near the door where I was.  I'll take that over her not wanting to be seen with mom.  I'm sure that's coming soon.

On Monday, the high school kids had a random day off due to teacher in-service.  Heather and Grace took the opportunity to hang out.  It looks like they're wrapped in their own individual devices, but they were actually chatting and sharing photos and websites the whole time.  They don't go to school together, so it was a good opportunity for them to share what they were into at that point in time.  We love any moments we can spend with our friends!

Jenna's Soccer Awards

We attended Jenna's team soccer party and awards ceremony tonight.  The coach said something nice about each player as he gave them their 2nd place trophies.  Jenna was one of the last, and he said she was a coach's dream because she could play any position he asked her to play, and play it well.  We were very proud of our girl and so pleased that she is enjoying soccer so much.

A High School Early Release Day!

You might be wondering why this title was posted with such exuberance? Well, we've discovered that early release days and lunches with mom are a thing of the past when one enters high school.  Over the years during elementary and middle school, the girls and I have enjoyed lunches out now and then.  Heather gets a late start morning on Mondays now, but it doesn't mean much because she still gets up for Seminary at 5:45 a.m.  So, when there was an unexpected early release on Friday after finals, we took full advantage!  Lunch at Corner Bakery and then some shopping at T.J.Maxx.  What more could we ask for?  Especially when Heather scored some great boots!  I love this girl and loved spending some silly time with her in the middle of her hectic and stressful school life.  Can't wait for the next time we get to do this!

Grown Up Friends

I love my friends as much as my girls do theirs, and it's so great each time we get together.  On Friday, while gathering at Corner Bakery to meet with my Moiola Mom friends, we ran into other friends.  Bobbi and Mary were there breakfasting, and Dina was in for a take-out order.  We got to chat for a minute.  It's so great to see Bobbi whenever I can, so this was a treat.  And three friends at once was a bonus!
On Saturday, some TwilightMom friends and I got together which was a bit of a challenge, but we made it happen.  Dana (left) was down from Oregon, so Casey and Sarah and I met her for a late dinner.  It was the only time we could fit it in, but how often does someone come from out of state to visit?  Ya just gotta make it work.  Dana was our cabin leader in Forks, and we have all stayed in contact via Facebook.  We figured we'd be catching up in person on our lives, but we got even more than we bargained for.  Casey ended up discussing religion, and we had a discussion about religion including Dana's conversion story.  We got to know quite a lot about each other and our personal journeys and desires for our lives.  It was a late night (2:00AM!), but we were so glad we could get all of our schedules to mesh.  Dana, if you're reading this, thanks for making the trip within your trip to see us!

Jenna's Creativity

Jenna has been loving the camera on her phone.  When she and her friends are together, there are always fun photos to be found on the photo stream.  She has a great eye.  Today they were filming a music video and did some sunset/shadow shots.  She did some good camera work with these!

Personal Progress Night

My first Personal Progress Night as a new leader.  We went with "Polka Dots and Personal Progress" for our theme.  Nothing to the title except we gave a prize if the girls wore anything that started with a P--polka dots, pink, patterns, purple, periwinkle, ponytails, pumps, etc.  The leaders got into it, and some of the girls did too.  Just makes the evening more fun, right?

We did stations, pictured above, with the objective of being able to meet with each of the girls and get them registered for PP on-line as well as providing some fun and bonding for the evening.

1)  Caroline, me and Lucy in our garb
2)  Personal Progress station - lap tops for on-line check-in
3/4)  Personality Profile - the girls answered questions on a survey
5)  Prattle Practice - Sister Koch led the girls in a discussion using the "Would You Rather" game questions
6)  Palatable Pleasures - all treats started with the letter P!
7)  As we enjoyed our treats we also mixed up the personality profiles and let each girl read one off while the group tried to guess who the person was.  The best discovery of the night was that Sister Pierce is expecting!  We found out when she answered "Something nobody knows about me"with that news.  Yay!

Heather's Odyssey

Heather had her Honors English group over to film their project for The Odyssey.  I have to say that I loved their creativity and preparation.  Everyone came with their props and script, and filming took just two sessions.  The video was great, and their teacher laughed out loud.  Success!

Gold All Star Soccer Weekend #2

Jenna played some great soccer today.  She was paired right away with the tallest girl on the other team (2nd picture with white head wrap) because no one else on her team could challenge her.  Way to go Jenna (aka: Defender Extraordinaire)!

New Doggie Bed and Friend Time

Sariah got two new beds today for her growing body.  Jenna tested out the round model and found it satisfying.
Heather tested out the cozy sides model, but didn't feel the need to nap

After a nice nap and art class with Sarah, I took the girls to Soup Plantation for dinner.  They always have a blast together.

Cold and Sunsets

Cold weather, but beautiful sunsets.  Can't ever get enough.
