Senior Honors Night

Tonight was Senior Honors Night. Many good friends received awards. Heather received the Scholar with Expertise which is a GPA of 2.5 or higher (she has a 3.5 overall) and four consecutive years in athletics. She also received the Service Cord for her many hours of service in the community. They accepted all of her Stake Youth Council service which was amazing because that's where Heather has been tirelessly serving the past two years. We were proud parents for sure. Heather has done an amazing job overcoming many obstacles to achieve what she has achieved.

Player of the Month

After her first season at Tstreet, we were so proud to see Jenna nominated as Player of the Month for her team. Jenna did a great job this year discovering that her team wasn't the experience she had expected, but giving her all anyway. Then mid season she was moved to an older team to fill in for a different position, and she did great. She ended up staying on the older team and giving her all no matter where she was asked to play (she played setter/opp or outside depending on need). It was nice that her coach recognized her hard work and dedication to her sport. Good job Jen!

Ward Activity - Crazy Socks!

Crazy sock ward activity tonight. Heather was the oldest of the "kids" and won the best crazy socks award! Woot!  There was some tough competition for sure!

Track and Field Banquet

Tonight was Heather's Track and Field Banquet. It's a fun, dressy occasion where athletes and their families gather to visit have dinner and listen to the awards ceremony.  This year Heather was honored with the award for "Most Inspirational" which was fitting due to the year she had. The coached talked briefly about her heart issue and how Heather has been willing to stick with track and have whatever kind of experience she could have be it racing, sitting and cheering or helping with miscellaneous event tasks. Fortunately, Heather was able to race when the season started, and she did pretty well. It was really great for her to hear her coach's kind words and to be honored for her dedication. It has been a struggle for sure. We're really proud of her for sticking with it and being faithful as she's continues on this journey with her health.
