Trunk-or-Treat

At the LAST minute, Jenna wanted to dress up to help with Trunk-or-Treat at church. She did an amazing job of grouping her face up to be a ghostly woman for the night. Her make up skills continue to astound me. How did she know how to do this? She watched a Youtube video. We thought she had borrowed some of Heather's zombie make up, but nope. Jenna used cotton and glue to achieve the lovely gash on her face.  So talented this girl is! Sarah stopped by from the choir event she was at, and Sister Miller snapped a photo of Jenna and I before we left. I was a Hershey bar, as you can see.  Haha.

Stan Lee Day 2 and Trunk-or-Treat

Day two of Stan Lee's Comic Con for Heather. She and Kenzie went as Quidditch Players. They stayed in Long Beach during the day and then drove back for Trunk-or-Treat. I dressed up the back of our trunk and got a little ghoulish with the make up. Love our Trunk-or-Treat tradition. Jenna and Kelly were here somewhere, but not pictured. Don't Kenzie and Heather look amazing in the back of the truck? Lot's of kids recognized them from Harry Potter and stopped to comment.

Trunk-or-Treat

Trunk-or-Treat was still on the "must-do" Halloween list for the teens and pre-teens. Jenna invited school friends, and Heather recreated her scary make up.  I decorated our car and passed out candy. Candy trading was a traditional end to the evening. Poor Heather still has a headache, but she is trying to ignore it to participate in these fun, seasonal traditions. I'm glad she did; we're not sure how much longer the girls will want to do all these fun things.

Trunk-Or-Treat

Our Shadow Hunters from City of Bones

 Our lovely Red Riding Hood

 The girlfriends from church/school

 The girlfriends' reunion

 The younger girlfriends from school

And last, and most important...the candy trading.  It's serious business folks.  Trunk-or-Treat was fabulous once again, and it really is a great way for the friends to all gather and have a great time.

Trunk-or-Treat

Our annual Trunk-or-Treat activity was, once again, very fun and festive, even if we were nearly melting before it started.  What is up with the weather?  Anyway, I dressed as a ghostly gal and handed out candy from our skeleton-bedecked trunk while our robber and Little Red walked around with their friends.  Kelly wore his "This invisible man costume is defective." t-shirt which always gets a few chuckles.  We saw lots of friends from church, and we had friends from school join us too.  After the event, we headed to the Holbrooks from some traditional candy trading and doughnut eating.  We scaled the party down somewhat, but the kids didn't seem to notice.  They all had a blast.

Trunk-Or-Treat

Here we are at Trunk-or-Treat! Grandpa came to join the fun. Count Dracula, Inga, Raven and the Shade were all present (look for the smile near Dracula's cape--yep, that's Heather).

Friends Madi and Abby came to visit...

along with the Grace, Gavin and Sean.

There was even a special treat as the Thriller zombies came and performed for us!

Back at our house, the Moshers and Holbrook young'ins came to sort candy and eat sugar. We mentioned watching Young Frankenstein, and Heather immediately went from Shade to Igor.

Caleb joined in, and these two sillies hobbled down the hallway.
