Daddy-Daughter Volleyball Tournament

These two competed in Tstreet's Daddy-Daughter tournament. There were prizes for best pair costume, and they took 2nd place! They were on fire and definitely brought the heat! All puns intended! Jenna won a prize basket filled with a cozy sherpa blanket, slippers and a month free at Athletic Republic. Way to go fire couple!

Creepy Theme Park Visits

10/18/16 - A quick run to Disneyland to ride Ghost Galaxy (Space Mountain) before Halloween time at Disneyland ends.  10/22/16 - Kelly and the girls went to Knott's Scary Farm again. If I had gone, there'd be more pics. Haha. We love our theme park, fall traditions!

Last Days of Summer - Disneyland with Heather

Soaking up the last days of summer today with Heather at Disneyland. Jenna had volleyball practice today so, Kelly and I tag teamed. Heather and I went in the morning, and then Kelly arrived and switched with me in the afternoon so I could help Jenna get to her practice.

We had so much fun hanging out at our favorite place today. We photographed the Tower of Terror which will be transforming into another theme at the first of the year and had silly fun.  Then Kelly and Heather rode their favorite rides and had adventures with Chewy as well as a yummy dinner.

Half Dome Again!

8/17/16  Preparing and packing while watching the Olympics...

8/18/16  Meeting Kelly in Los Angeles (Jodi and I drove the girls up) so they could get a head start on their journey...

8/19/16  Backpackers camp in the valley...

8/20/16  Day 1 Bus ride to Tuolumne Meadows and Hike from Tuolumne to Lake Evelyn...

8/22/16  Day 2 Hike Lake Evelyn to Merced Lake...

8/22/16  Day 3 Hike Merced Lake to Little Yosemite Valley...

8/23/16  Day 4 Hike up Half Dome and back out to the valley...

Kelly took Heather and MacKenzie to Yosemite for their traditional summer hike.  This year they started hiking from Tuolumne Meadows and hiked over 50 miles in four days.  They saw beautiful scenery, but it was some serious hiking. Kelly ended up having issues with both his stomach and his knee and had to stay behind on the last day while the girls hiked Half Dome on their own.  Oddly, I wasn't nervous. I knew the girls were super safety-aware and responsible, and both girls had made the hike a couple of times. They knew the trail and knew the precautions. We knew there would be rangers and other nice hikers along the way. They were prayerful in their decision to make the hike, and they did it amazingly. We reflected on the perfection of this experience as the girls will be heading out into the world as adults in just a year. The confidence this trip gave them was priceless for this time in their lives. After hiking back to Kelly, they packed up and hiked out to the valley to come home.  An amazing adventure with amazing memories.

USA Women's Volleyball

Kelly and Jenna went to Long Beach State to see the US Women's volleyball team play against China. They had a great time, and what a great event for two volleyball players/fans to attend!

Club Volleyball Banquet

Kelly took Jenna to her Ohana Volleyball Club banquet tonight. They had a Hawaiian theme so, flowers were a must.  You guys looked great! Jenna has had an amazing first club season and is looking forward to some competitive volleyball next season.

Olympic Sweat

That's Jenna in the white shirt with the towel. She was cheering so loud for her favorite players at the US National Volleyball scrimmage tonight that they gave her a job on the court. She got to sit there next to the team and run out after any play where a guy hit the ground. She wiped up their sweat with the towel. She's such a germaphobe that it was hard to believe she was okay with this!
She can now say she's wiped up the sweat of Olympians. She had so much fun tonight!

Daddy-Daughter Dance and More

Jenna and Dad attended a Daddy-Daughter dance where the little girls dressed as princesses.

One of my favorite times of day is when Heather sits down to play through all the songs she knows. She may be avoiding homework and distressing, but it's 30 minutes of beautiful music guaranteed!

Sariah started this sitting thing. She doesn't want to get all the way on, just her hind section.
Silly Dog.

Our latest Dutch Oven dessert was chocolate/cherry cobbler. Kelly continues to gather and try new recipes. Love it!

Our Awesome Dad

These were some random pictures taken this month that show how awesome Kelly is. He loves hanging out with his daughters wherever either at home or out. He takes the girls (and friends) to Disneyland for spontaneous adventures. He's pretty much up for anything and just loves being wherever they are. I feel very, very blessed to have married such a good man. I knew he was awesome, but his awesomeness runs deep. Those are the things you don't quite know when you get married like whether they'll be a great long-term companion or a good dad. Kelly simply excels at it all.
