1 & 2 - Made it to Phoenix and all checked in. Dinner at the local Corner Bakery. Tomorrow begins the volleyball competition, and this girl will give it her all. She always does not matter what. A fierce competition and a great team player. We are very proud of your hard work and determination Jenna! 3, 4, 5 & 6 - Who has the greatest aunt and uncle ever?  We do! Aunt Michelle, Uncle Shane and Gavin arrived at the Convention Center before the last match started on the first day, and then they came back for two more days. What a great surprise! They were in the Phoenix area at the same time for a wrestling camp. After the games one evening, we went to Cooperstown, a local burger place owned by Alice Cooper. Not my favorite singer, but the food was good, and the company was even better. 7. My favorite side of Jenna is her silly side. 8. I don't know why, but I love huddle pictures. I love the unity and focus as the team heads on to the court or back into the game after regrouping. 9 & 10. Jenna joined the team after playing outside in Vegas to be a setter. She is back playing outside because the girl she replaced rolled her ankle. During day 3, our other outside tore her ACL. It's been a tough injury season for this team. They played really well together and were sad to say good-bye.

This Is It - Heather's Last Meet

Today Heather competed in her last Sunset League Final. She did a great job, but it was all about the relationships that were made. The athletes ran their races, but in between they hung out together cheering each other on and reminiscing. The top picture is of Heather and Cora during one of their first meets together and then at this last meet. It was great to recreate that picture. They have been friends on track and at church. Taylor and Clarissa and Gina have also been with Heather since middle school. Such great girls. Can't wait to see what amazing things they do in the future. It's going to be so weird not to have track meets from January to May each year, but we have enjoyed every minute.

Beach Cities Invitational

Heather PR'd today at the Beach Cities Invitational in the 300m Hurdles. This put her 8th overall which was amazing. Mr. Mosher (Grace's dad) was there with one of his athletes from Ocean View, and he clocked Heather's hurdles and was able to give her some great feedback. He's such a great guy and so supportive!

Jenna's Frosh/Soph Volleyball Season

Jenna has had an AMAZING Freshman season in high school volleyball! She started every game and played full rotation setting and then blocking when she was front row. She had amazing offense and defense. We couldn't be more proud of her. Cannot WAIT to see what this girl does as she starts club season.

Track Banquet 2016

Heather was looking radiant and beautiful at her track banquet tonight! She had another successful year. She came back from a fractured tailbone injury, missing the first few months of training, to PR in both the 100m and 300m hurdle events. She is exclusively a hurdle runner now, and this picture is missing Coach Knowels and Coach Krissy who are the hurdle coaches. Good work Heather! You continue to amaze us with your strength and endurance through the "hurdles" in life.

Fulton Track Meet for Jenna

Friends having success in the longer distances

Jenna getting ready for one of three attempts

Jenna and Rachel Hanson from Moiola days

Jenna took 2nd place in the running long jump! Woot!

Sarah made a great mascot!

Today was the district track meet for the middle schools. Jenna was a jumper and competed in the running long jump. She did pretty well even though she didn't jump quite as far as she had wanted to. A great second competition in track and field for Jen. We're proud of you Jen!

Newsie's Practice for the Jubilee

Tonight's practice for the Jubilee was fun for Heather. She's in the Newsie's number, and Sister Holmstrom asked who could do tricks. It seemed the right place for hurdling over some people, so Heather mentioned it to her. Here she's hurdling over one person, and then she tried two. This girl can fly! She's got a part in the trick section, and I know she'll do great.

Les Mis Fountain Valley Vocal Music

The Fountain Valley Vocal Music department had their end of the year show. We know so many friends in the choirs that it was super fun to go and see this show. The first half of the show features all the choirs, and the second half is the Troubadours and a few invited Concert Choir members. This year the second half was Les Miserable, and it was FABULOUS! Morgan Parker was Jean Val Jean and led the entire show remarkably. Many friends had leads. Madi and Kenzie came with to see the show, pictured above with Lizzie who was in the ensemble/Concert Choir. Kelly and Jenna came too. It was a great family activity. Can't wait until next year!

Dutch Oven Chicken

For a combined Relief Society/Young Women meeting this month, we decided to do a Dutch Oven cooking class since the young women and their leaders will be cooking their own meals at camp. Kelly put together a great recipe with a whole chicken, a yummy rub and potatoes and vegetables. We tried it out the day before the RS Meeting, and it was so yummy. It was a complete hit at the meeting! We won't be able to do a whole chicken at camp, but the meal was delicious and the girls who participated got to see the process.  Kelly is amazing at figure this stuff out. I'm proud to call him my man.

OCMCO Concert - Amazing Grace

It was amazing to come back and sing with OCMCO again this season. The music was beautiful and so uplifting. The whole family attended, and it was fun to run into my TwilightMoms friend, Sarah (her kids are in the choir now). The hard work pays off, every, single, time.

Daddy-Daughter Dance and More

Jenna and Dad attended a Daddy-Daughter dance where the little girls dressed as princesses.

One of my favorite times of day is when Heather sits down to play through all the songs she knows. She may be avoiding homework and distressing, but it's 30 minutes of beautiful music guaranteed!

Sariah started this sitting thing. She doesn't want to get all the way on, just her hind section.
Silly Dog.

Our latest Dutch Oven dessert was chocolate/cherry cobbler. Kelly continues to gather and try new recipes. Love it!
