FVHS Spring Concert

We had a great time tonight supporting our chorally gifted friends at their last FVHS Vocal Music Concert. You guys are amazing! Jenna has friends in choir now so, this will not be our last concert.

MCO's Christmas Concert

Michelle and I had fabulous seats tonight for MCO's Christmas Concert. I miss singing, but am happy not to have the stress of rehearsals every week with the girls' busy schedules. It was amazing to attend, and the spirit of Christmas was everywhere. The music was gorgeous as usual, and we just enjoyed every, single moment.

Hamlet

Tonight we went to see Hamlet presented by our high school theater department. The Honors and AP English classes assigned the play for extra credit, but we got a bonus. Not only did our girls get extra credit, we got to see best friends, MacKenzie and Madi, play Hamlet and Polonius. They did a great job! Memorizing Shakespeare is no easy task! Good work ladies!

Newsies!

When we found out Newsies was coming to the Pantages in Hollywood, I knew we needed tickets! The girls and I went for a mom/daughters date, and we had a wonderful time. Our seats were great and this show! Oh how amazing! The singing, choreography, staging...everything about it was wonderful. There was a moment during the 50th Jubilee when Heather considered dropping out of the Newsies number, but I told her when she sat in the theater watching the Broadway production, she would be sad that she didn't dance in a number when she had the chance.  She agreed back in June, and she was over-the-moon watching "Seize the Day" on this stage! I'm so glad we took a moment to make this happen. Jenna loved it too. It has been such a pleasure to share my love of the theater with my daughters.

Beauty and The Beast

Our church friends were in a theater production of Beauty and The Beast, and we got to go see it tonight. Clark Matthews was an excellent Gaston, and Morgan Parker a hilarious Lumiere. Lauren Snow was in the ensemble and did a great job as well. We had a great time! Such talented youth!

Les Mis Fountain Valley Vocal Music

The Fountain Valley Vocal Music department had their end of the year show. We know so many friends in the choirs that it was super fun to go and see this show. The first half of the show features all the choirs, and the second half is the Troubadours and a few invited Concert Choir members. This year the second half was Les Miserable, and it was FABULOUS! Morgan Parker was Jean Val Jean and led the entire show remarkably. Many friends had leads. Madi and Kenzie came with to see the show, pictured above with Lizzie who was in the ensemble/Concert Choir. Kelly and Jenna came too. It was a great family activity. Can't wait until next year!

Hamlet

Sheryl called us this evening to ask us if we would like to attend a screening of Hamlet with Benedict Cumberbatch. Her friends couldn't use their tickets because their kids got sick, and the play was streaming from London, a live production that was recorded for audiences. So Heather and I jumped right on this and were so excited! We went to the Irvine Barclay, and we might as well have been in London. The full screen recording of the live play was amazing. Every actor was amazing, and BC was divine. So much energy in his performance. How ever do they learn and memorize those lines??? What a treat this was!

The Phantom of The Opera

Tonight we went to see The Phantom of the Opera at the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles. We were able to find excellent $45.00 tickets, and we love the Pantages because every seat is spectacular no matter where you sit. We were in the mezzanine and loved the seats. It was so wonderful to have this experience as a family! Kelly and I saw this play when we were first married, and our girls have seen and love the movie, especially Heather. We all enjoyed the performance and were moved, even Jenna commented on how sad it was. We are so fortunate to share experiences like this with our girls, and what a great 16th birthday present for Heather. She brought some birthday money to purchase a souvenir and bought a diamond-esque studded mask. This was some great memory making for the Peterson clan.
