Girls Camp Kickoff!

These 6th-year "miners" kicked off Girls Camp tonight with their "Diamonds In The Rough" mining theme. They sang a little mining song and have officially begun their leadership roles planning and preparing for camp. We're so proud of you Heather! You are going to be an amazing camp leader!

Family Reunion 2016 - Spencer Clan

We attempted to have a family reunion in Vernon, AZ this year. Only half of us made it, but we still had so much fun! We slept in an RV Aunt Kathy secured for us (Sariah curled up in her bed; so cute) while Michelle and Jo's families slept in the house or in the backyard in tents.  Aunt Margie, Aunt Kathy and Uncle Chuck, and Grandpa Ron represented all of our parents, and Michelle, Jo and I represented the cousins.  Our husband's and kids all came, and it was such a blast. We hung out, ate great food, had great conversations, took walks, took several quad rides, had a camp fire went to church, and made a trip on the quads to Greenspeak. We basked in our love for one another and our buckets were filled! Next time we hope to get Jeff, Kim and Carrie there. Family is everything!

Jenna's 8th Grade Graduation

Our baby graduated, or was promoted, today! Yay! She did an amazing job navigating middle school with confidence and super good grades.  This was a day where we documented not only her promotion, but the sheer number of friends this girl has. What a great group moving on to high school together!  We're so proud of you Jenna! We can't wait to see what amazing things you do in high school!

Father's Day 2016

Grabbed a quick photo on Father's Day before taking Grandpa home. Normally we take this at the table, but we forgot. Grandpa is getting a little older and foggier. It's hard to see him age, but we're happy we can still honor him on Father's Day.

USA Women's Volleyball

Kelly and Jenna went to Long Beach State to see the US Women's volleyball team play against China. They had a great time, and what a great event for two volleyball players/fans to attend!

8th Grade Dance

Tonight was Jenna's 8th Grade Dance or Promotion Party. I volunteered to work the caricature booth like I did for Heather's dance.  We took pictures at home with Sarah, and then Jenna went to meet her friends and go to the dance together. She looked so grown up and BEAUTIFUL. It's amazing to see the young woman she is becoming. The dance was a blast, and it will be fun to start high school with this great group of friends.

Club Volleyball Banquet

Kelly took Jenna to her Ohana Volleyball Club banquet tonight. They had a Hawaiian theme so, flowers were a must.  You guys looked great! Jenna has had an amazing first club season and is looking forward to some competitive volleyball next season.

Jenna's First Dance

Jenna hasn't been able to go to a single youth dance yet, and she's been eligible since February! She has either been sick, had volleyball all morning and afternoon or has been out of town. Tonight was the night! She and Heather went together. They looked so pretty! I love that they got to have this experience together. Heather doesn't really like the dances, but she was an amazing sport to accompany Jenna.

Last Day of School - Lunch at Corner Bakery

Last day of school for these soon-to-be seniors! Traditional lunch at Corner Bakery is always fun, and Grace came to join us. Next year will be our last, last-day-of-school lunch. I can't believe how fast these years have gone.

Disney Bound

Kenzie and Heather went to Disneyland to day "Disney Bound" which means they dressed up as Disney characters, but without dressing up because Disneyland doesn't let adults dress up. They went as Hades and Meg from Hercules.  So cute.  I did Heather's hair. Gotta love a challenge, but it worked.

50th Anniversary Jubilee!

This is the 50th anniversary of the Huntington Beach, CA LDS Stake. To commemorate, our stake opened the Stake Center to the community and offered tours, a historical video showing, a carnival, food and a variety show. The show was comprised of numbers from memorable numbers from our Stake Shows.  I pulled out memorabilia from my childhood including my Merrie Miss Banner and bracelet, and my Targeted flag.

"Supercalifragilistic" from Mary Poppins was included, and I was able to teach the choreography and dance in the number like I did in 2009.  Heather was involved in the reprisal of "Seize the Day" from Newsies. That number was in one of the first HB Stake Shows we saw when we moved here in the late 90's.  It was amazing to be involved in the jubilee, and our friends loved being able to come and see another show.  We don't know when we'll be able to have a show again, so this was extra special
