Soccer Weekend

Kelly was the soccer dad superhero this weekend for Jenna while Heather and I were performing. Jenna's team was eligible for the Area Playoffs after winning their region championship game. Area Playoffs meant at least two games on Saturday and one on Sunday. Kelly and Jenna hit the field at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, and the team won their 9:15 a.m. game. The team grabbed a quick lunch together and after a good effort, they lost the 1:15 p.m. game. Jenna's friends, Sarah and Ava, came to watch her play and cheer on the team which was an extra treat for Jen.

Kelly and Jenna were up again on Sunday to check in at 8:00 a.m. We had not expected any Sunday games for AYSO, and because we didn't feel we could let the team down without having notified them early on that we wouldn't be playing on Sundays, we made the exception and let Jenna play. I ran to early church at 9:00 a.m. just in case the girls won their game and had to go on to an afternoon game. They ended up losing, and Kelly and Heather were able to attend our regular church meeting while I stayed home with my exhausted superstar.

Our first, official soccer season is now over! The girls were not disappointed as they had already achieved so much this season. What a fantastic experience for our first time with AYSO. Here are some great photos taken by our team mom, Erin, at Saturday's game.

I just came back and re-read this to get an idea of what we are in for - we are heading to area playoffs this year, and I knew you had written about it somewhere!
