Going Home - Not

Here's the short version:

• Car went into and came home from local shop on Friday for air conditioning repair.
• Monday afternoon, after not driving for two days, Melissa gets in car and discovers there is still no air.
• Tuesday, which should have been departure day, the car was back in the shop.
• Tuesday evening, car out of shop and mystery is never solved. Air is now working with a guarantee that the car has no leaks anywhere. Perhaps no air was repaired on Friday when they gave the car back? Who knows.

Meanwhile...

We waited around all day at Aunt Michelle's not able to make any plans until we knew what was going to happen with the car. Our plan had been to drive 1/2 way on Tuesday, stay at our favorite hotel in Flagstaff, and then drive the rest of the route on Wednesday. However, none of this could be done without air conditioning, and we weren't sure if the car would have that or not.

While the girls waited, there were lots of video and computer games played, and later in the afternoon, the kids walked with Grandpa to the ditch across the street to play. Little did I know there would be mud.

Notice the girls' legs caked in mud. They had a great time, and although it wasn't in my plans, we took showers and got all the mud off.

The car was repaired, we spent the night at Michelle's, and we took off Wednesday morning for the drive home. Twelve hours and forty minutes later, we were home.
