School Parties & California Adventure

During the school day, the girls both had their class Valentine's Day parties. Jenna's box one 4th place in the decorating contest. She was SO happy.

This is Heather's last year for Valentines as the upper core doesn't do a lot of these fun little celebratory activities. She had fun passing Valentines out to her class, and she also put in a dollar for the privilege of wearing a hat all day for the Hats for Haiti fundraiser. She used her own dollar and thought it was fun to wear mom's read hat.

Later that day...

We drove to join Aunt Michelle and Gavin at California Adventure. They had been there all day and had done all the rides due to the limited crowd.

Jenna wouldn't ride, but she was thrilled to discover she'd grown an inch or two since the last time she measured for the Maliboomer!

Aunt Michelle had rollercoastered herself out, so Aunt Melissa took a turn on Mullholland Madness.

The event the kids had waited for finally came - the last ride. They wanted to ride Grizzly River Rapids, and we told them they could make it their last ride and ride it as many times as they wanted. Why would this be the last ride? Well...

There is a 90% chance that you will get completely drenched on this ride. If you do not bring ponchos, you must plan accordingly. This means that we reserved the jackets for after the ride, and made it the last one so that the giddy, but freezing, children could be taken straight to a hot bath! Here are Heather and Gavin with, "One more time?!" They are completely soaked.

After five rides, we swapped shirts for jackets and sloshed out to the car with some hot cocoa. We had a fun time and the kids were soaked to the bone and completely happy.
